The house has a lot of unique historical features. I understand her reason for using those colours but it makes the house look dark and depressing. However, as long as she is happy with her choices, what I think does not matter

What a homey home. It’s old, it’s comfortable, and it hugs you!

I love the beams. I built a rustic Tuscan home. I bought a German made planer that had a special bit to simulate the hand az’d look. It took 2 guys 1 week to treat all of the main beams.
